This morning I made some paper pots to start my seeds in, and here they are sunning themselves in my kitchen window. Hopefully in a couple of months I will have some eager tomato and pepper plants to transplant. This is my first time attempting this, and I'm very excited! Last year our yard was nothing but mud when the snow melted, so it it incredibly encouraging to see a partially finished yard emerge from the cover of winter. I can't wait to put a garden in, however small, and enjoy some fresh veggies this summer!
did you just use newspaper to make the pots? I would like to try peppers this year too and didn’t realize that I should start now. I’m just learning bit by bit about gardening each year.
I got the idea for the paper pots from this blog post: http://simpleorganic.net/starting-a-garden-with-repurposed-materials/ There is a link to a youtube video for how to make them, as well as a bunch of other great ideas, including a link for a chart telling you when you should start seeds indoors in relation to the last frost. I don’t know much about gardening either, just learning a bit here and there. Gotta start somewhere 🙂
Good for you. This picture is very quaint and sweet.
