Hail

The aftermath of a freak hail storm while we were eating supper. The sun was still shining when the rain started pouring, and when the rain and hail stopped, the sun quickly shone its face once again.

Therapy

I have a dishwasher. That makes the times I stand at the sink washing dishes a matter of choice, not necessity. Turn on a little Coldplay in my strangely quiet house, and this is where I go for therapy. Cheaper than lying in a chaise telling my problems to a stranger.

We were blessed this day, to celebrate my brother Cody getting married. This is his beautiful bride Mellary, and her dad as they wait to walk down the aisle. I know the beauty, class, and elegance of the day were a reflection of my new sister, and that she is a woman of integrity and devotion. I am so looking forward to getting to know her better. You can never have too many sisters!

Delighted

Friends of ours got married this afternoon, and we are thrilled for them. They are such a sweet couple.

One of only two photos I took today, aside from being a tad out of focus I think it turned out quite well.

Great Grandma

Here we have Miss Bailey, sitting with her Great Grandma. I didn't expect her to be keen on sitting with her great grandparents since she was having a bit of an off day, but she was happy to be held.

As a side note, when I'm my grandma's age I hope my skin looks like hers. Honestly, I think she has aged better than some people half her age!

Rx

Off to the pharmacy this evening, for prescriptions for me and baby. I'm showing symptoms of thrush, and Deacon needs to be treated as well even though he's not showing any symptoms, because he could reinfect me if he's not treated. Blah.

As annoying as it all is, I am incredibly thankful that I could just call my midwife and have her call in a prescription rather than have to get in to see a doctor.

Rain

Now that the rain isn't giving me migraines anymore, we are on good terms again. I much prefer these cool, rainy days to the awful heat we've had the last while.

Brew

No, this is not my beer. No, I don't even wish it were. I'm not a beer fan. I would have been tempted if it were a vodka or rum cooler, but beer is not my thing.

We celebrated my sister's birthday today, and my brother-in-law seized the opportunity to pass out a few Sleeman Honey Brown...at least I think that's what they were.

Hands

My hands are small, I know
But they're not yours, they are my own.

These sweet, pudgy hands belong to a big little baby who is already three weeks old! I'm a sucker for his blue eyes: I melt every time he looks at me. I love this boy.

Big Mac

Family from far away places have all come to our corner of the world. There are five kids in my family, and now that everyone is married and four of the five have kids of their own, it's not a common occurrence that we are all together at the same time. It's hectic, but a lot of fun. For the record, we are not all staying under one roof...that would be a little too hectic :)

This is my littlest nephew, Mac. He's not quite two, but don't tell him that, because he thinks he must be at least seven as he runs around and keeps up with all the big cousins.
