Our local MLA hosts an annual Picnic In The Park for his constituents, so the kids and I went this afternoon to take advantage of the festivities. The highlight for the kids (and I guess for me as well) was a master balloon artist that created a dinosaur for Wyatt, dragon wings for Markus, and butterfly wings for Bailey.

Just sitting on the couch, watching the sky get dark as the rain, lightning, and thunder roll in. I love summer storms.

SmooTim

I purposely shot the French side of this cup because I wanted to draw attention away from the text in the pink band that advertises for fruit smoothies...I didn't want to give the impression that fruit smoothies are brown. This is in fact an Iced Capp; however, I didn't realize until after I took the photo that the translation for smoothie is "SmooTim". Really?!!

Baby & Me

Clay helped me get this shot and of the few we took, this has the worst focus, but the general look of it is more what I was going for than the ones with sharper focus. Evenings outside don't lend themselves to being very good for taking pictures when the mosquitoes are in full force, so this is what I had to work with today. I still like it, and wanted to post another pregnancy photo while I still can :)

Boogie

Me and my mom, before we walked a 5k today.
I felt like I needed to prove something by doing this walk, since it seemed people thought I couldn't/shouldn't be walking 5k 5 days before my due date. I did it, and I did not go into labour on the course ;)

Impatiens

One of my flower pots that I didn't get around to watering today because I was too busy nesting. The bathroom is clean, the laundry is (nearly) caught up, and groceries for some freezer-meals have been bought - now I just need to prep them next week.

Tea Time

I'm 39 weeks pregnant today, and am going strong with drinking my Red Raspberry Leaf Tea in hopes of getting my body ready for labour. I don't know how much I believe it really does, but it doesn't hurt, and doesn't taste bad either.

When the sugary breakfast cereals beckon, I am so thankful that I can pull out this line, "Hey, do you guys want to get Multi Grain Cheerios, just like Grandpa?!" Which is met with a resounding, "Yeah!"

There are better options out there, but there are also far worse. And I am learning to pick my battles wisely.

Markus

I caught this guy on the backyard playground. This is a "no, you may not take my picture because I am too busy playing" look. I just take it to mean I need to take pictures of him more often so he (hopefully) doesn't get too self conscious about it as he gets older.

Corn holders - definitely useful this time of year. While I don't know what nutritional value corn holds, it sure tastes good on the cob, slathered in butter with a healthy dose of salt.
