You win some, you lose some. For the record, I feel like this photo is a loss. I took way too many, and could not get the exposure right. I'm not happy with how it turned out, but I am happy about eating some of this delicious red fruit tomorrow!

Honeycrisp apples are the best, and pomegranates are growing on me. They're good for me, so I eat them. I just can't get past the seeds. Am I the only one that thinks the seeds are annoying? Do you swallow them? Spit them out? This is an aspect of pomegranate eating that no one treads near. Help me out here, folks!

I thought you were only supposed to eat the seeds. You DEFINITELY can eat them, though! You can buy just the seeds in a package. They are delish!

  2. Kim:

I guess I should clarify what I mean. I definitely pop the seeds in my mouth and eat the juicy stuff, but what about the part of the seed that isn’t juicy?

  3. Ashley:

You can definitely still eat that 🙂

  4. Angie:

ps. I would not classify this photo under ‘you lose some’… my uneducated eye thinks it’s beautiful!

Thanks Angie. I am definitely less critical of it now than when I posted it. It’s growing on me, and I actually do like it now.

Crunch them down. I like the texture they add. I have always eaten them, grab a handful of the pomo gems and chew, crunchy and sweet. Nice pic, by the way, even if you feel it is a lose.

  7. Kim:

Seriously Becky? It just seems wrong to crunch them down. I bite them gently, suck all the juicy goodness out and spit the seeds out. Am I the only one who does this? This is what happens when no one teaches me how to eat poms I suppose – I try it for myself and end up doing it ‘wrong’. 🙂

Seriously! Now I haven’t looked up the health benefits of pomo seeds but I know so many other seeds from fruit and other sources are so nutritious so I just assume you are getting so much more if you eat the seeds too. I also eat grape seeds, figure if I am not afraid to use grape seed oil I shouldn’t be afraid to eat grape seeds, so no seedless grapes needed for me:)
