Elusive

I've captured him - the elusive firstborn.
Our three big kids came home from their camping trip with Grandma and Grandpa today, and when prompted for a photo, Markus declared he is never going to do pictures again. He couldn't resist a pose though, when Clay asked him to show us how tough he is with his sword (which is hiding behind his head).

Feet

I love baby feet. I love focusing in on all the beautiful details of babies - they are so intricate and perfectly made.

Bailey, Markus, and Wyatt are all buckled up and ready to hit the road with Grandma and Grandpa. They're going camping for two nights, and their days will be filled with swimming, fishing, playing in the sand, and eating marshmallows (according to them). What more could you ask for but to do it with some of your awesome cousins, Aunties, and Uncles?

I know they'll have a great time, and while it would be fun to join them, I think it's best for me to rest at home and sleep as much as I can while I have a chance to do so :)

I'm long overdue to have a photo of Markus on here, but it just didn't happen today. Instead I give you wooden food. These were a gift for Bailey for her birthday, but her older brothers play with them as much as she does, if not more. Markus had a picnic with Bailey upstairs today - it is so nice to see how little sister is being included more in the big brothers' lives now that baby brother has arrived.

"Look at my new ears, Mommy!"

Bath Time

I sure do appreciate what has become my daily soak in the tub. Even more, I am looking forward to seeing my chiropractor tomorrow...giving birth to another nine pound baby took a bit of a toll on me.

Bright Eyes

Deacon is a week old today. They grow up too fast! He is such a sweet boy, and I am loving having him in my arms.

The babymoon ends tomorrow, as Clay heads back to work. Thankfully it is just for the afternoon - I need to ease into his absence slowly. I have been so blessed to have him home for the past week. Isn't there a job out there that would pay him to stay at home all the time? In my dreams.

My parents' front yard is a giant sandbox, as they are in the process of getting the stucco done on their house. So while Clay and I were both fast asleep in the house thanks to our nights being a little low on sleep these days, our two mischievous middle children were busy taking their clothes off and getting dirty in the sand. A week ago I would have been bothered by the mess...today I was just glad to have gotten a few extra hours of sleep! We are reaching a new level of crazy with four kids in our family :)

A laundry basket full of clean, folded clothes. My sweet husband loves me, that much is obvious :) He's been doing an amazing job taking care of the house this week while I rest and recover from giving birth.

Sweeties

The four greatest kids in the world.
We are so blessed.
