This was supposed to be a shot of Bailey, but she moved too quickly for me to catch her. Then she was being crazy on the chair and nearly tipped backwards, so I decided this was good enough. We were watching Clay play hockey - it's so nice when he plays early enough for us to go watch.
I've got this stack of tiny stockings waiting for the next step to becoming an advent calendar. I got this idea from my friend Sarah, who even set me up with the cute fabric to make them with. I spent a chunk of time yesterday pinning, cutting, and sewing to get to this point. Soon they'll be hanging from a ribbon, waiting to be filled with activities and treats for December.
I laid Deacon in the bed so I could fix Wyatt's blanket, left the room for a minute and came back to find them like this.
"Oh, you guys are so cute!"
Markus replied, "Yeah Mommy, you should go get the camera and take a picture of us!"
That little Deacon gets a whole lot of love. Maybe that's what makes him grow so fast!

When I tackle an annoying area of the house, I feel like I can breathe again. I banished the out of season shoes and jackets, got rid of the shoes no one wears, threw all the papers hanging out on the bench into the recycling bin... this is a front entrance I'm proud of. Now the challenge is to keep it this way.
While it is tempting for me to complain about my lack of sleep lately, due to a little man who is often waking three times per night, I won't. These sleepless nights are a gift. I could look at them as a burden, or receive them as a gift to see my smiling boy's face at a time when no one else is vying for my attention. He's such a joy and I want to savour these short months as much as I can.
I totally get that the new Food Network Canada show
Recipe to Riches is really just an hour long President's Choice commercial. I get that the people who think they are "winning" are really giving their recipe away and allowing Loblaw's to make millions off of their hard work. But when the show's over, I just want to get the latest winning recipe in my mouth. Brilliant advertising. Darn you, Galen Weston!
Bailey was not in the mood for smiling. I don't know what this face is meant to convey, but it definitely shows her goofy side.
I'm feeling a lot better than I did on Friday, but not well enough to enjoy coffee. I couldn't finish the one Clay got me this morning, so I wait with anticipation for a day soon to come when I can dig into these new beans. It will be a beautiful day.
Advance Polls, you gotta love 'em. The lure of avoiding the crowds on Monday was just too much. My ballot has been cast, and the recipient of my vote isn't much of a secret...just drive by my house and take a look at the sign in our lawn, haha :) So this is my friendly reminder to get out and vote on Monday, all you Saskatchewinners!
I'm uploading this late, though it was shot on Friday. I'm getting over some kind of bug, which knocked me flat yesterday. My relatively small baby felt like he weighed a ton, and it was all I could do to walk 5 steps without feeling like I was going to collapse. I'll leave any description of unwanted bodily fluids out. My wonderful husband took such good care of me and the kids. Yes I realize that was poor grammar. I totally went there.
I took this photo around 7pm, right after I got a migraine and right before I crashed for the night.
