169: Relief?

Benedryl, please make my arms stop itching.
Hydrocortisone cream, please make the swelling on my arms go down.
Heat rash, please go away and never come back.
My white skin was not made to live in extreme heat. It's only May! I sure hope my body acclimatizes soon!
Wyatt insisted on wearing his toque outside in our nearly 30C weather today. Honestly, I didn't pose him like that. He shoved his hands in those pockets all on his own.

Meet the newest member of our family - my niece Reese! She's only three days old, yet it feels like she's always been here - such a perfect fit to her family. Congrats Kel & Sher!

166: Railing

There is nothing terribly stunning about this photo, aside from the fact that our top deck now has railing!!! Much thanks to Clay and Pa, they did such a great job. Oh I am so excited! Now the BBQ can live a few steps closer to the kitchen, and we can get some deck furniture for the lower deck. Can't wait! Now all our deck needs is for us to close off the space between the two levels, and some lower steps - we are making due with other things. It is coming together so nicely!

I took this with Clay's iPhone, and am pretty impressed with the quality of it - far better than I would have gotten from my phone! We got free tickets to the Daughtry concert tonight, and a friend was kind enough to come babysit, so off we went to our first concert together in nearly 3 years. Wow, that's a long time.
The first opening band was Cavo, never heard of them, but they were really good. Then Lifehouse, and even though I have not kept up with them since their first album I really enjoyed them. Finally Daughtry, who made my night by covering Phil Collins' 'In The Air Tonight' (I am a closet Phil Collins fan thanks to my big sister Jean!), and by inviting Jason Wade of Lifehouse on stage with him during the encore to sing 'Home' together - what a great gesture. Wonderful night. We need to get out together more often!
It's not very often that I capture a genuine smile from this guy - usually when he is co-operating with having his picture taken it is accompanied by a scary face. He made a game of running from the camera today, and I managed to get a smile!

163: Pals

I walked past the couch to discover these cuties tucked into a blanket, "reading" a book together. It is such a blessing to have them get along so well. And yes, they do fight, I'm just not as eager to capture those moments!

162: LOST

Today was one of those days where I had good intentions of getting a good shot early in the day and it just never happened. Now I'm about to watch LOST with my man before bed, so just snapped a shot of the TV and off I go. Maybe tomorrow's photo will be more interesting :)

Clay's summer hockey season started last week, and tonight we were able to go take in our first game. Mom and Dad came too, and we met up with Murray and Cheryl as well. The boys had so much fun watching Daddy (that's him - 95!) and their friend Derek on the ice, and taking in the sights of the rink.

On this day, and every day, I am thankful and blessed that this woman is my mom, and I think you can tell by the look in his eyes that he's pretty pleased she's his Grandma.
