Racers

Markus and Wyatt love racing on these dual slides at the playground. It has been so great to see how much more adventurous they are since being in gymnastics this past year - they are serious little monkeys.

After breakfast we spent a good portion of the morning at the park as a family, before the sun got too hot and the playground too crowded.

Reading

Even though I have successfully breastfed three babies, I figure it's worth my time to refresh my memory on what's what. One of the midwives encouraged me to go back to the basics, because sometimes experienced moms end up with nursing problems simply because they took for granted that they knew what they were doing. Perhaps that's why I had trouble for the first few weeks with Bailey, so I want to make sure I'm not forgetting the fundamentals. Ina May Gaskin is a great resource when it comes to having a baby!

Ultrasound

My belly was apparently not measuring big enough for how far along I am in this pregnancy, so my midwife wanted me to go for another ultrasound just to ensure baby is healthy and everything is fine. All is well, baby is measuring exactly on schedule (which I take with a grain of salt given my past experience with how inaccurate late pregnancy ultrasounds are at determining baby's size), but if it makes everyone else feel as at ease as I already was then it's all good.

Last Christmas, we actually walked away from the extended family gift exchange with something useful. These solar garden lights are certainly a better prize than the snowman figurines, shelf-stable cheese and sausage platters, or scented candles that have tried to come home with us in the past.

Bunkbeds

The things these guys come up with...
Snack time was spent in their very functional, though from the looks of things not very comfy, bunkbeds. Oh for the days when your body was made of rubber. My bones and joints ache just looking at this photo.

Clay had a weird day at work today, and asked that I pick up a treat on my way home this evening. We shall feast on chai lattes and cinnamon buns while we sit back and relax...with a Driscoll sermon.

Today we celebrated the first birthday of the tiniest member of our family - my niece Reese. These milestones always creep up...why do they grow up so fast?! She won't be the family baby for long - only a few weeks to go until our little one will arrive.

Specialtees

I saw these t-shirts at Old Navy today and couldn't pass them up. I have a feeling the boys will be rotating between two favourite shirts after they get their hands on these (the other favourite being their dinosaur shirts). And who can resist a little Batgirl in pink?

Do your kids love vitamins? Mine sure do.
I'm not sure what it is about the chalky texture that is so appealing to them, but I'll take it.

Taiso

The boys absolutely love their weekly gymnastics class. Today was the last class of the spring session, and we won't start again until the fall, much to their disappointment. Here they are, patiently waiting for their turn to play "the boat game" on the trampoline with their pal, the only other boy in their class :)
