One of my precious nieces, who is in town for Saturday's big event. I haven't seen this little lady since she was 6 months old, and now she is TWO! She still looks exactly the same, only bigger. Same beautiful, striking eyes (I challenge you to find a child with more incredible eyelashes!), and same strawberry blonde hair :)

252: Haircutie

Wyatt, Markus, (I mean Robin and Batman) and Clay all got haircuts today, in preparation for the wedding this Saturday. I wasn't sure how the little ones would do, but of course Batman and Robin are brave, so it was no big deal :) They all look so great in their matching fauxhawks.

Itty bitty cupcake, packed with yum. Not enough icing on it though, which resulted in me grabbing a spoon and eating some straight from the bowl. I'm not usually big on icing, but this Swiss meringue buttercream is the best I've ever had in. my. life.. I may very well be sick of it by the end of the week (making a huuuuge batch of it on Thursday in an attempt to build a wedding cake for my brother), but while I'm feeling the love for it, I shall eat. Because I can.

Clay is finally on the mend, and took me on a much needed date tonight. My wonderful mom came to take care of our kids (thanks, Mom!!) and we stopped to look at a show home in our neighbourhood, drove to the theatre, walked to the Freehouse downtown for supper (I had a grilled chicken and capicolo sandwich with sweet fries, and a Keith's white), and then we walked back to the theatre to see Inception - if you haven't seen it, the rumours are true...it really is fantastic.
Thank you for the great night out, Clay!
Look at those colours. Isn't it odd how there are fruit flavoured candies and treats that line store shelves...people try to replicate the good stuff, rather than just eating the real thing. The real thing was perfectly deslgned - from the micro nutrients inside to the perfect 'wrapper' on the outside - yet we try to improve on something that needs no improvement. Speaks to a lot of things in life, don't you think?
I'm trying to believe
that you're holding me
When the feeling is gone
I want to see you're right
when I'm wrong
I just want to be
what you want for me, this time
I'll follow you
Will you guide me
I want to live my life your way

I've had my hands in the dirt all day (making a new flower bed in our front yard), it's late, I need a shower, and still needed a photo too.See my name on the keyboard?

246: So Blue

My poor husband:
1) He's sick. It's been over a week, and the doctor he went to see today thinks it may be West Nile Virus. Testing takes over a week to get results, so we pray he gets better in the meantime.
2) The last 2 or 3 photos I've posted of him, he's been sick. I need to get a nice shot of him when he's feeling better.

When the rain comes
you blame it on the things that you have done
When the storm fades
you know that rain must fall on everyone
Rest awhile
It'll be alright
No one loves you like I do
When the rain comes
I will hold you
-Third Day
My wonderful Wyatt turns three today! I am so blessed to have this boy in my life. He is smart, adventurous, affectionate, kindhearted, hilarious, and oh-so-goofy! He and his brother love to play pretend, and can often be found masquerading as monkeys, 'bad guys', monsters, Goliath, Buzz Lightyear... but Wyatt always comes back to his canine alter-ego: he insists he is a dog named Moosey, and has carried on the charade for a few months already. Moosey loves to snuggle Mommy Moosey (that's me!), and I'll take almost any chance I can get to snuggle this little man while he still wants to be close to his mama. He'll never grow up...right?
