Bailey had a big snuggle with Daddy when he came home from work today, which obviously melted his heart.
He is such an awesome dad, and I am so blessed to be married to him!

We went to see Switchfoot tonight, one of my all-time favourite bands. When I was a teenager you would have found me in the front, jumping around and singing at the top of my lungs. Now I praise God for my husband who bought VIP tickets for the sole reason that we would have a better chance of getting chairs to sit on the whole show. We watched from the balcony, and I had a great time laughing at a girl at the front who was waaaay too into it. Maybe I find those people so funny because they remind me of my former self.
Absolutely nothing.
I don't remember what Jackie Chan movie has him singing that song, but I always hear him singing it in my head.
Normally I love the drive-thru ATM (sometimes the world actually seems parent friendly), but this one by our house has been out of service probably the last 3 times we've tried using it. Oh, the inconvenience of having to go INSIDE :)

Okay, so it's obviously no secret that we love our Converse All-Stars around here - they're popping up in all sizes and colours. Despite my love for them, mine are not leaving the closet lately since it is way too much work to bend over to tie them. These days I either slip on some flip-flops or slide into my new Toms.
Markus and Wyatt love racing on these dual slides at the playground. It has been so great to see how much more adventurous they are since being in gymnastics this past year - they are serious little monkeys.
After breakfast we spent a good portion of the morning at the park as a family, before the sun got too hot and the playground too crowded.

Even though I have successfully breastfed three babies, I figure it's worth my time to refresh my memory on what's what. One of the midwives encouraged me to go back to the basics, because sometimes experienced moms end up with nursing problems simply because they took for granted that they knew what they were doing. Perhaps that's why I had trouble for the first few weeks with Bailey, so I want to make sure I'm not forgetting the fundamentals. Ina May Gaskin is a great resource when it comes to having a baby!
My belly was apparently not measuring big enough for how far along I am in this pregnancy, so my midwife wanted me to go for another ultrasound just to ensure baby is healthy and everything is fine. All is well, baby is measuring exactly on schedule (which I take with a grain of salt given my past experience with how inaccurate late pregnancy ultrasounds are at determining baby's size), but if it makes everyone else feel as at ease as I already was then it's all good.
Last Christmas, we actually walked away from the extended family gift exchange with something useful. These solar garden lights are certainly a better prize than the snowman figurines, shelf-stable cheese and sausage platters, or scented candles that have tried to come home with us in the past.
