Day 4 of our Christmas fun - watch Home Alone.

Artists

I had such a hard time choosing a photo today - every one that I took captured such hilarious expressions on these boys' faces! I love Markus' cheesy smile, and Wyatt's kissy face cracks me up.

Our third advent activity had them making Christmas cards for someone far away, and we'll pop them in the mail later today. Two very lucky people are going to have some very sweet cards in their mailbox next week!

Unique

Today's activity was to make paper snowflakes :)

Light Show

I'm doing an activity each day with the kids for advent as we anticipate Christmas. Today's activity was to decorate the boys' room with their own set of lights.

I'm going to try to post a shot of each activity over the next 24 days :)

Also, I'm undecided as to what to do about my post titles now. Should I start counting over again from one?

365. There is a finality in the number, but this is not the end.

You may have figured out my shot for today, but if not, let me explain. I'm having another baby! Right now our little 11 week old is the size of a lime :) So near the end of June next year, we'll be welcoming another beautiful child to our family. We are so excited!

I've decided to continue with this project, as it is such a treasure to look back on the past year and can't imagine not documenting my daily life anymore. Of course I would still take pictures, but this is a wonderful forum in which to share them. Thank you to everyone who has followed me, encouraged me, and inspired me. I look forward to continuing the journey!

364: Juicy

Mandarin oranges - one of the best tastes of the season.

Tomorrow will be my 365th photo! Stay tuned...

363: It’s Bokeh

There are days that present a myriad of opportunities to take photos, and you just don't pick up the camera. When I was almost ready to start shooting, my baby girl wanted to be held. So I held her, and comforted her, and then I snuggled with my sick little boy. And at the end of the day, I took an out of focus picture of my neighbour's Christmas lights because living in the moment is more important than getting the perfect shot every day. Goodnight :)

362: Embelish

Markus lends a hand, decorating Christmas cookies.
I decided to make a huge batch today - 4 batches, really - and ended up with well over 100 cookies. I think we should be set for December. Now, where am I going to put them all?

361: Simmer

Today was stock cooking day. I don't have a regular routine of making chicken stock, but whenever I have enough bones and vegetable scraps acquired in my freezer, I throw it in a pot and let it simmer. We had chicken noodle soup for supper, and I just polished off the leftover bowl for an evening snack :)

360: Markus

What he really wants me to do is take a picture of his hand, but I managed to get a few good ones of him face. I had to use my stern voice, but you wouldn't know it from his smile.
