We had a garage sale today. Came home with a few treasures from our neighbours' sales, and money to burn in our pockets. The weather turned out to be beautiful, with a quick shower mid-day...at that moment we were sure glad to have set up in the garage and not on the lawn.
My newly discovered green thumb is also growing herbs - meet my dear friend, Basil. He and Oregano happily sun themselves in my dining room window, ready and waiting to add flavour to our food. I think once the weather warms up, I'll plant them outside so they can really spread their roots.

I'd like you to meet the star of tonight's pulled pork sarnies, Bear~B~Cue. My friend Janelle, whose family lives in Kansas, uses this stuff on nearly everything. She brings us back a bottle every now and then when they go down for a visit, and it was divine in those sandwiches!
I get to see her every day, and even I am in awe of how adorable Miss Bailey is in this photo. I was trying to get shots of her crawling away from me, but all she wanted to do was attack me and the camera. You can see the "I'm gonna get you!" look in her eyes.
May 4 - cold, windy, and snow. Oi vey. I like this picture though, because I find the red and blue on the broom very cheerful against the bleakness of winter in May. I am so thankful that this weather won't be around for the next 6 months, because I had a low and sad day. Surely not all the weather's fault, but it didn't help.
Our neighbour girls were over to play this afternoon - they blew bubbles and the boys chased the bubbles around with sticks, trying to pop them. Markus was concentrating really hard, waiting for those bubbles to come his way.
Longer days means that all the solar lights in the backyards on our street stay lit late into the night. They don't really cast a lot of light, but I love how they twinkle like little candles in the dark.
Chinese food for supper. We tried a new-to-us place, and while it was good, we probably won't order from there again. I don't even know why we feel the need to try different places when we have one that we really enjoy. I guess it's true what they say, variety is the spice of life!
I'm a Scrabble fan, but this Super Scrabble edition was a bit much for me: the board's twice as big, there are twice as many letters, and yes, it takes twice as long to play. I guess without my kids dividing my attention I might have enjoyed it more... because then I might have won :P
Four out of five surveyed at our supper table agreed that this was delicious. The one who disagreed is 2 years old - he doesn't agree with much these days.
I picked Jamie's Food Revolution up yesterday and this Macaroni and Cauliflower Cheese Bake looked way too yummy not to make - I just substituted bow ties for mac.
