We had a wonderful evening with friends. We ate, laughed, played games, laughed, and even had birthday cupcakes :) I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
I can't say I love this picture of me, but it tells the story of the day - another year older. Another year of living by grace, through faith, learning more about who my great God is and who he has made me to be.

I built myself a light tent today! After round one of testing it out, I'm pretty pleased with the results. I could use some more lamps since I am only using one at the moment, but it brightened up nicely in photoshop. All in all, a couple of hours well spent.
As for the subject of this photo, I have found my go-to wine. This stuff is SO good! It's not aged in oak, and the flavour is so fresh and bright. And it's Canadian :)

The snow is quickly disappearing, and the slumbering earth is getting ready to burst with new life. I can't wait to say goodbye to this brown and dirty world and welcome one full of life and colour.

My firstborn son turned four today. Four years ago my life changed forever. Four years ago I was given a most precious gift. Four years ago I held this boy, all 7lb11oz of him, and had no idea what I was doing, what I was getting myself into - but I knew I loved him with all my heart. I could never have imagined what an amazing boy he would grow up to become, and I am in awe of who he is. And while I wish I could freeze time and keep him from growing up, I also am so excited to watch him grow and see who he will become. I am so honoured to be his Mommy, and humbled that the Lord would choose me for the job.
Meet our little family of djembes: the smallest one was a gift from my sister Jean, brought all the way here by her from Kenya, the medium sized one I brought home from Uganda when I was there in 2003, and the largest one is one I bought to play with since the smaller two don't have very good tone. They sure look good though!
I haven't had much opportunity to play since having kids, but I still enjoy it when I have the chance!

The boys had a blast playing in the backyard this afternoon: 3C never felt so good!!
Markus insists that these are Lizard Boots....no sense arguing with a soon-to-be four year old!

I'm convinced that the difference in the kitchen between Martha Stewart and I is not the taste and quality of our food, but the disaster left in the wake of the cook. The "clean as you cook" strategy can only fly so far when you have three small children under foot.
We had spaghetti and meat sauce for supper tonight - Clay's favourite! Wyatt's been anything but keen on most veggies lately, so I put some spinach in the sauce, that way he couldn't pick around it. Instead of being pokey about eating his veggies he and Markus were pokey about the whole bowl of pasta. Oh well, Bailey thought it was great :)
I am loving the bokeh in this picture, from the light reflected off the pot lid.
