Funny Girl

Bailey was not in the mood for smiling. I don't know what this face is meant to convey, but it definitely shows her goofy side.

Soon

I'm feeling a lot better than I did on Friday, but not well enough to enjoy coffee. I couldn't finish the one Clay got me this morning, so I wait with anticipation for a day soon to come when I can dig into these new beans. It will be a beautiful day.

Vote

Advance Polls, you gotta love 'em. The lure of avoiding the crowds on Monday was just too much. My ballot has been cast, and the recipient of my vote isn't much of a secret...just drive by my house and take a look at the sign in our lawn, haha :) So this is my friendly reminder to get out and vote on Monday, all you Saskatchewinners!

Sick

I'm uploading this late, though it was shot on Friday. I'm getting over some kind of bug, which knocked me flat yesterday. My relatively small baby felt like he weighed a ton, and it was all I could do to walk 5 steps without feeling like I was going to collapse. I'll leave any description of unwanted bodily fluids out. My wonderful husband took such good care of me and the kids. Yes I realize that was poor grammar. I totally went there.

I took this photo around 7pm, right after I got a migraine and right before I crashed for the night.

Laugh

This little man did not want to nap today. He was happy as a clam if we'd let him stay awake, but the problem with that is that Clay and I felt terrible today and just needed to nap. Clay stayed with him this afternoon and let me rest - what an amazing husband I have.

Our nights have been very low on sleep lately thanks to Deacon and Bailey, and I'm sure hoping we can get a good sleep tonight.

Bubble

Clay and the kids inside a giant bubble. Once we learned the trick was speed and not finesse, there was no trouble getting this to work. We had so much fun at the Science Centre today, and will definitely make it a regular thing to go. I love that there is always more to learn, no matter how old you are. Half the fun of homeschooling is the fact that I'm learning right along with them - my public school education was certainly not exhaustive!

The view from here.
We're on a two day trip to Regina, just for the fun of it. (I know, who goes to Regina for fun, right?) Lunch was brutal, don't eat at Cravings All Day Grill. Ever. Supper consisted of popcorn and Coke at the theater, since we went to see Puss in Boots. We returned to the hotel, the kids put up a bit of a whiny fight because they were overtired, and Clay and I will follow suit shortly; hopefully we'll skip the whining. A very fun day, overall! Tomorrow we're off to explore the science center.

Trick or Treat!

Rather than braving the cold to go trick or treating today, we went to Clay's office and joined some more office kids in a trick-or-treating expedition to everyone's desks. They still walked away with too much candy (in my opinion, not theirs) and had a great time.

After supper they finally got to smash up their pinata, which they've been looking forward to for months, and I was anxious to see the treats inside as well. I'm happy to report that the treats survived! Bailey was so gentle and dainty as she swung the hockey stick at the pinata, and the boys swung at it with all their might. Clay captured the festivities, so check his site for a photo :)

More family photos today, better get them before the snow flies!
Today the stars are my sister and her family. They've been living in Kenya for the past seven years, and are back home for a year. It is awesome to have them here, to be sharing the everyday things of life with them. Today we gathered at their place to celebrate Julia's birthday - the first time we've done so in person. Love it! We love you guys, and are so happy you're here.

Mr. O’Lantern

Markus designed this Jack O'Lantern on paper, and I set to work recreating it on the pumpkin. He was going for super funny and a little bit scary. I'd say it's super scary and a little bit funny. Is this just the difference of male/female opinion? The boys also think the morbid halloween decorations people put in their yards are hilarious...I'll take that over calming down scared kids anytime :)
