363: It’s Bokeh

There are days that present a myriad of opportunities to take photos, and you just don't pick up the camera. When I was almost ready to start shooting, my baby girl wanted to be held. So I held her, and comforted her, and then I snuggled with my sick little boy. And at the end of the day, I took an out of focus picture of my neighbour's Christmas lights because living in the moment is more important than getting the perfect shot every day. Goodnight :)

362: Embelish

Markus lends a hand, decorating Christmas cookies.
I decided to make a huge batch today - 4 batches, really - and ended up with well over 100 cookies. I think we should be set for December. Now, where am I going to put them all?

361: Simmer

Today was stock cooking day. I don't have a regular routine of making chicken stock, but whenever I have enough bones and vegetable scraps acquired in my freezer, I throw it in a pot and let it simmer. We had chicken noodle soup for supper, and I just polished off the leftover bowl for an evening snack :)

360: Markus

What he really wants me to do is take a picture of his hand, but I managed to get a few good ones of him face. I had to use my stern voice, but you wouldn't know it from his smile.

359: Migraine

I was knocked out all day with a migraine headache. This is sort of what my world looked like.

358: H2O

Thankful for it.
Too tired to shoot anything else.

357: Decorate

I bought these massive 15cm Christmas decorations with the hope of hanging them on either side of my front door. I should have checked the weather forecast before I stepped outside to embark on my mission today. It felt SO cold out there, but I had already started so I refused the check the temperature until I finished, so I wouldn't get scared off. It was -16C, but with the wind it felt like -26C. No wonder my fingers felt like they were going to fall off!
I'm so happy with the end result though, I think they look great!

356: Sleep

Sweet, sweet Eva, stealing hearts wherever she goes.
A while back I posted a shot of all the baby bumps of the expectant ladies in our church family, and now the babies are arriving! The girls arrived first - Eva, followed by Tenley, and today I was at another baby shower as we await the two boys set to arrive in the next few weeks.

If you know me, you know I like to bake. I also like to bake things that are challenging (ie: wedding cake). Well today I tackled something I hadn't tried before - a gluten and dairy free chocolate cake. It looks amazing, but I have to wait until supper tomorrow to find out if it tastes as good as it looks.

The chair...and my daughter will be one day too, I suppose :)
I was telling a friend of mine about this chair and she said I should take a picture of it one of these days. So the goal was to show more of the chair in today's shot, but Bailey was by far the most adorable in this one. This chair has been in my husband's family for at least 4 generations - before we had it his parents did, before them his grandparents on his mom's side had it, they got it from Grandpa's uncle, and we don't know where it came from before that. It is so cool to pull this piece of history up to the table when we sit down to eat.
