My Wy Guy, getting into trouble in the kitchen.
The bulk of today was spent out of the house, trekking through the drizzle from the van to the store, then back again, and repeat, repeat, repeat. When we finally got home just before 2 I noticed a hissing sound coming from the van and discovered a screw lodged in one of the front tires. After a quick late lunch, off we went to Canadian Tire to have the tire fixed (for free! Thank you Lord). We got home just before 5, then I cooked a delicious Pork & Bok Choy stirfry which we ate with Cody and Pa. After getting the wee ones to bed it was 9 o'clock and I was wiped. Is that a believable enough explanation for why I was taking a shot of my knife block at 9:45 pm? Some days, this is all I have the effort for with this project. I really like this shot though - the lighting is great.

"Our friend next door painted our fingernails when we were over there playing today. If you think we look shocked, you should see Daddy's face!"

It is so sweet to see how these guys get along so well with the girls next door, even to the point of getting manicures :) It's pretty hard to see, but Wyatt's are pink and Markus' are sparkly blue.

Amazon order - always a welcome sight in the mailbox! Inside was an ESV thinline Bible for me from Clay, and the latest Mark Driscoll book, Doctrine: What Christians Should Believe.
I always loved it when people would turn their Christmas lights on in the summer. Since we finally got Christmas lights last year, I can now be one of those people! I love that they are beautiful, unexpected, and as we taught the boys in December - the lights remind us of Jesus, the light of the world. Who he is and what he has done for us is a bright light shining in a hopelessly dark world. Who doesn't need a reminder of that year round?!

It was Fun Day in the Park today in our neighbourhood, complete with bouncy castles. Markus and Wyatt took a little while to work up the nerve to go in, so we went to get their faces painted. Then we found a bouncy thing with not many kids in it, so off they went. They were thrilled with it, like I knew they would be once they finally just tried it. Apparently Markus was really getting into the whole dog role - cutest little doggie I've ever seen.

Took this up at the lake - kiddos and I joined my parents up there, as Clay was away for the day.

I was captivated by the incredible clouds today, and thought this was a good day to attempt an HDR in post. I'm not sure if I am happy with the result, but I didn't have a lot of time to play with it as it is LATE and I am wiped out.

I've been accumulating a bunch of fabric scraps over the past few years, thinking surely they'd come in handy for something. I kept thinking I should really get rid of the scraps if I wasn't going to do something useful with them. I had been toying with the idea of sewing a bag with them, and came across this today. So, voila! These are the bottoms of my dining room and living room curtains! I added a few extras - pockets on the inside. I am thrilled with the result, and perhaps the most thrilling part of all is that I DID NOT CRY !!!! hahaha! It sounds ridiculous to say that, but it's a big victory for me every time I complete a sewing project without breaking down in tears and wanting to quit at some point :)
I get such a kick out of Bailey in these pants. Only when you're a baby can you get away with a style like this!

This little gal will be one year old tomorrow - it really is incredible how fast they grow up!!
Here she is with whipped cream smeared all over her face, after our family's customary first birthday cupcake, dressed in nothing but a diaper. She ate the whipped cream and strawberries off two cupcakes, but wasn't at all interested in the cake itself :)
Happy birthday Bailey!
