We went out for supper with new friends from church - I love how God brings people together in his family. We went to La Bamba (thanks, Bensons, for the recommendation) and it was so delicious! We will definitely go back. Here's everyone's Mexican beer bottles...and my kids' pop :) Such is the life of a breastfeeding mom. I'm not a huge beer fan though, so it really wasn't that much of a sacrifice.
We took the balloon out of our pinata a few days ago, I tied a ribbon through for hanging it, filled it up with goodies and prizes for the kids while they were sleeping, and patched the hole. Today we made papier mache pulp to give the pinata even more strength. It totally saturated the shell underneath, threatening to misshapen our precious project, so I decided I would follow the advice to dry it out in the oven on a low temperature. I periodically checked on it to see how it was drying, and after about an hour realized, Wow, I am an idiot! There are chocolates and plastic toys inside this thing. Not only are the kids in for a surprise when they finally crack it open - I'm curious to see what's going to fall out too!
Beautiful Bailey.
She insists on having her hair hang in her face. Today it covers a goose-egg she got as a result of falling out of our shopping cart at the grocery store. My heart sank to my stomach, and my stomach leaped into my throat when I saw her laying on the floor. I called Clay, who took her to the hospital to make sure she was going to be alright.
Praise God she's okay, thank you Jesus for grace. Healing, no concussion, a happy and energetic girl. It's all grace.

He's getting too big!!
I love my Deacon so very much. He is growing up so much, discovering his hands and having so much fun learning what he can do with them. I wish he'd stay little forever, but then I'd miss out on all the fun that growth brings. Every stage brings so much joy, and I'm doing my best to enjoy everything during the fleeting moment that it's here.

They headed to the park with their Daddy and Pappy to cheer on their big brother. They must be talking about how awesome Markus is doing as he learns to ride his bike without training wheels.
Bailey!
I tried getting her to wear this shirt last Sunday, and to say I was met with resistance is putting it mildly. This little girl knows what she wants and is not afraid to say so! Today she left wardrobe selection to me, which does not happen often, so I finally dressed her up in this shirt. She was adorable, of course.

Deacon spent some time sitting with Poppa today, and this photo reminds me a lot of one I took last year. Since Poppa prefers Deacon's middle name, he's taken to only calling him Isaac. Deacon didn't seem to mind one bit.
While I am slightly ashamed to admit it, Friday by Rebecca Black has become a favourite song around here. Bailey loves the original, "the girl one"; and the boys are partial to "the guy one", a remake by the Epic Mullet Guy. I love his version as well - it still cracks me up every time I watch it.
"Fun, fun, think about fun, you know what it is!"

To say that Wyatt loves his baby brother would be a huge understatement. He adores him. He has no shortage of kisses, snuggles, play, and chatter to share with Deacon, along with all the nicknames he comes up with for him. I love to see them together, and pray they have a strong bond their whole lives.
Have you seen the pinatas they sell in the stores these days? You pull ribbons off the bottom, and one breaks open the hatch that rains down the goodies. What happened to the good old days of whacking it with a stick? Too violent for kids these days, I suppose.
Well ever since I told Markus that real pinatas are opened by hitting it with a stick, he's been wanting to make one. Today we began the process, and these guys did such a great job! They cut paper strips, mixed the paste, and very carefully placed the strips on the balloon form. Now we wait for it to dry before we move on to the next step.
I love home schooling.
