I love to cook, I love to bake....I just don't like planning the menu. If only there were a way to make these books compile a list of meals for me, and create a grocery list for me while they were at it. I'd be one happy housewife. But then I wouldn't be working. And anyone who's a housewife knows it's not about sitting on the couch watching tv and eating bonbons all day - at least not if you're doing your job well.

208: Souleio

I had the pleasure of dining at Souleio Foods with a few friends this evening. Souleio is an urban food market offering artisanal, sustainably produced foods both from local sources and around the world. They occupy a century old building, and their presence on that street is helping to rejuvenate a part of the downtown that has been neglected for years. Oh yeah, and the food was delicious!

I like the stark contrast in this photo of the dirty construction sight against the bold beauty of nature. My second attempt at HDR - more happy with the results this time around.

Anyone who thinks this province is boring and complains about it being flat need only set their sights a little higher to realize this is a slice of heaven on earth. Sure, it can be monotonous to drive through for hours on end, if all you're looking at is field after field whizzing by your window. But if you raise your gaze, there is nothing boring about this place.

206: Downpour

I do love a good thunderstorm!!

205: Crema

Crema: a thin layer of foam at the top of a cup of espresso.

I've been wanting an espresso machine for ages, and Clay found a used one for me on kijiji for only $50! It's an older Saeco machine, and I love it!! I have a lot to learn about pulling the perfect shot, but my trial run latte tasted divine.

Anyone have any tips to share?

204: Markus

My eldest, four years old. He is becoming such a handsome little man, but it is so difficult to capture this precious smile on camera! He always scrunches up his face or does something goofy when I point the camera in his direction. To get this shot, my man was playing a goofy audio clip on his iPhone of Markus and his little brother singing an original tune, "Going To The Potty"...incidentally, you now know all the words to that song!
Second try at putting Little Lady in the swing - huge success! We had a lovely time at the playground this morning, thanks to this swing, grape juice (boys' idea), and mosquito repellent (my idea).
We took our boys to see Toy Story 3 tonight. It was their first time going to the theater, and we had no idea how they would react. They had more fun than this picture would suggest :) Markus covered his ears the whole time, and Wyatt let go of his ears pretty early in the movie and really enjoyed himself. No crying, so I count it a success! A wonderful father's day adventure with my amazing husband.

(Taken with Clay's iPhone by a kind, random passerby)

201: Numbers

I don't know what to say about this shot, other than I like it.

I spent most of the day shooting wedding video with my man, and didn't have much opportunity to take photos since he was using the camera for video. We need another camera.....but that's another story.

So I went out after we got home, in hopes of doing some drive by shooting - that is, panning - but the mosquitoes were so vicious that I just snapped this and ran home.

If only we were all this carefree about the way we look - she knows she's beautiful, even with a spaghetti stained mug!

At my big sister's request, taking a break from the artsy for a glimpse of one of our kids. Bailey is getting more and more steady on her feet as she cruises along the furniture, and more upset by the limitations she has set in her mind - that she can't walk. I don't expect her to wait too long, because she's a girl who knows what she wants and takes matters into her own hands to get it.
