GoopaGuy

Somehow our boys thought it appropriate to name their spacemen Goopa Guys. It appears Orange Goopa Guy has landed on a strange planet. White, grainy soil and....are those strange land masses edible? Might be an okay place to be stuck after all!

48: ‘Til Death

Til Death
Forty years ago my parents made a covenant with each other to love and to cherish, for better for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, for the rest of their lives.

By the grace of God they remain committed and as they celebrate 40 years, I celebrate as well!

Truck

Little boys
Awaken from their slumber
Kindly say "Good morning!"
and thunder down the stairs.
While Mommy and Daddy praise God
for a lazy Saturday morning
Little boys do something
little boys do very well.
Make a mess.
Dump out the cars. Trucks. Trains.
All of them.
Then they survey their masterpiece....
and play Wii.

46: Little Miss

Bailey
Take a look at this little pleased as punch gal, who decided she was ready to sit up by herself today! Way to go sweetie!

45: Daily Life

Phone

Scrambling at the end of the day for something around the house to take a picture of. This is our board beside the phone, and in focus is the cute Christmas card my sister and her family sent. I try to be fairly faithful in clearing this board off, since all my *important* notes on it generally become part of the scenery in a matter of days. I'm not as organized as I'd like to be but who is?

44: 30 Day Shred

Shred

A goal of mine this year is to train for and run in a 5k race. I am so out of shape and training for a race seems like a good, attainable goal. Something to work for. I'm not a hardcore runner though (yet), so all the snow on the ground and temperatures way below zero are reason enough to stay inside. I figure if I'm stuck inside, I might as well be doing something else to get in shape so I've got a head start once the snow is gone. Enter Jillian Michaels. Yikes. Today was day one of doing this DVD and it was killer!

43: Yellow

Lemon
Yellow is the theme for the week on the 365 Project site, in an effort to add some colour to January :) This pile of lemons at the grocery store today caught my eye. Voila!
Apple
keeps the doctor away? Maybe I should amp up my fruit intake and find out. Or maybe I should stop hoping a pain free way of being healthy will one day present itself, and instead get my butt in gear and get in shape already! But I guess either way I should be eating more fruit.

Books

I want my kids to be readers. I want them to know the joy that sitting down with a good book can bring. That said, we don't do a ton of reading in this house. I hadn't been to the library in ages. There is something incredibly overwhelming about standing in the middle of the children's section and seeing rows upon rows of books and not knowing which ones are meaningless drivell (or worse, encouraging things I don't want to encourage), and which ones are winners. Thankfully I found a list online from a blogger I would say I trust, and her top ten children's authors. We went, we conquered, and the proof is in the bookshelf. So far, The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss is their favourite.

40: Chocoface

Chocoface
I had the most wonderful sous chefs in the kitchen this afternoon, helping me bake chocolate cupcakes. And what batch of cupcakes is complete without licking the spatula?
