Fading

Feeling tired, and fading like these flowers. I like the contrast of this shot next to yesterday's.

Though the sky is overcast, the ground is covered with ice and snow, and the temperature hovers below freezing, spring is in the air I breathe. Winter never lasts forever, and for this I am grateful.

These are the tulips Clay got me for my birthday. I know it's overexposed, but I quite like the soft effect it gives.

Curious George

My boys have been wearing their halloween costumes for the past 4 days - they only take them off to sleep, and only because we insist. Here we have Curious George, thrilled to have discovered a stuffed monkey at his grandma and grandpa's house that he was given permission to borrow.

3rd Avenue

Hi everyone!
Today marks the beginning of the year I am 27, and I'm commemorating the day by beginning a new 365 Project. Happy birthday to me! I am looking forward to what God has in store for me this year, as I grow into a mother of four and learn to depend even more fully on the One who holds me together.

I snapped this on my supper date with Clay, on our way to our dessert date destination :)

Ready for sunshine

Little Bailey has recently started to care a lot about clothes, and this is what happens when she's given the okay to choose her own outfit. I think she's ready for the 3 foot high snowbanks to melt so she can get some sun! Later in the day she insisted on putting a few extra layers on - five more shirts to be exact. Perhaps she realized how impractical her wardrobe choice was for the day?

5 Months

Here I am 22 weeks along in my pregnancy. We had an ultrasound last week and baby was healthy and sleeping like....a baby.

And no, we didn't find out the baby's sex, so you don't need to ask :)

Monkey!

The kids are gathered around my computer for a little gaming - Curious George. It started with just the boys, but when Bailey came downstairs after her nap she jumped in my arms, yelled "Monkey!" and insisted on sitting with her brothers.

Lunch Date

Thanks to my mom coming to watch the kids, Clay and I were able to go for a lunch date today. We went to Il Secondo, off Broadway, and if I have to sum it up in a word: yum. The best lattes in the city, amazing pizza, and delicious baked goods. And I had the best company I could ask for! We will definitely be back.
See Clay's view of things here.

Good Canadians

We went down to the river for the grand opening of the new and improved skating rink by the Bess. The boys were both adamant that they wanted to try skating for the first time, so Clay took them each around once. They didn't do very well, but said it was a lot of fun and want to do it again. I'm relieved they didn't freak out.

Clean

In this busy home, a clean floor is worth taking notice of. It will not last for long.
