Modern art, or folding chairs?
I'll leave that up to you.

I had a great time doing a family photo session this afternoon for some friends. It's so much fun to just let the kids be kids, and sit at a distance with a long lens to capture them at play.

337: Someday

I look forward to a day, someday soon, when I can collapse into bed at 7pm with a headache and not have the nagging thought of, "Oh no....I still need a photo for today..." on repeat in my brain as I try to have a nap. And I look forward to the day that I can be gently woken up by my husband from that nap, and not have my first panicky thought be, "Oh no! It's after midnight and I didn't get a picture today!" It wasn't after midnight, and this was taken after said nap, but seriously. This project has been great, but I'll honestly be glad when it's over.

336: Words of Life

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. We do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14-16

335: Light trails

Come on try a little
Nothing is forever
There's got to be something better than
In the middle
But me & Cinderella
We put it all together
We can drive it home
With one headlight

-One Headlight, The Wallflowers

Had this song in my head as we drove home this evening (yes, with one headlight), and of course serenaded my husband. Isn't it funny that I can remember the words to a 14 year old tune, but sometimes can't remember when I last showered? The life of a mom with young kids :)

334: For Jude

An older sister is a friend and defender - a listener, a counsellor, and a sharer of delights. And sorrows too. (Pam Brown)

My sister Jude requested a shot of the pink daisy, so she can frame all 3 daisy shots to hang in her home. I might have another one from the last few days that I like better to complete the set, but this was shot today, so post it I shall.

333: Vibrant

Daisies, take 2. I'm feeling the need to get some frame-worthy shots of these beauties to hang in my house, so bear with me - there may be more to come in the days ahead.

332: Daisy

Rain, another rainy day
Comes up from the ocean
Give herself away
She comes down easy
On rich and debt the same
And she gives herself away

-Daisy, Switchfoot

I had this song in my head as I was snapping away happily with the daisies that my wonderful husband brought home for me today. Gerbera daisies - he remembered! I'll take 3 daisies over a dozen roses any day :) It was so nice to have something new and exciting in the house to turn my attention to when the daily photo loomed over my head late in the day.

Today was one of those days where I could give up and not take a photo, or shoot one of myself in my ridiculous Snuggie as I try to figure out a vitamin order. The former isn't an option since I'm only 35 days away from my 365th photo (yay!), so the latter it is.

330: Snow

Winter blew in today. If you were to scroll through my facebook newsfeed you'd see one complaint, after another, after another....you get the point. I really don't understand. Do people forget that winter comes every year? Do they forget that winter gets cold, and brings snow? Seriously. It happens EVERY year. Of course no one knows exactly when the first snowfall will come, so every year it is met with people whining and griping. Whatever. I guess while I'm not complaining about the snow, I am complaining about people, and am no more righteous than the next person. I'm keenly aware of that.

The snow does make me thankful. When autumn drags on with brown and dreary days, I'm thankful for the first snow as it reminds me that Jesus is still in charge, still ushering in the changing of seasons. He more faithful than the rising and setting of the sun. More faithful than the changing of seasons.
